Anne W. Burrell has been a chef, television personality in the United States and a teacher at Institute of Culinary Education. Anne Burrell. Burrell hosts on Secrets of a Restaurant Chef on the Food Network, as well as co-host of Worst Cooks in America. Anne Burrell, with her famous spiky blonde hair and her edgy personality on Food Network's Secrets of a Restaurant Cook series, reveals an easy and straightforward cooking techniques that are suitable for the home cook. Chef Burrell has worked for a time in New York at top restaurants and studied the Italian culinary tradition and its environment. She also competed as Iron Chef America on Food Network. As a child in the Upstate New York area, Chef Burrell discovered a love for food and cooking from a young age. The Culinary Institute of America was the next step for her following her graduation with an Associate of Arts degree in English as well as Communications from Canisius College Buffalo NY. The Culinary Institute of America was a wonderful opportunity for me. I couldn't seem to get enough pleasure from it. After graduation, chef Burrell was able to spend a full year in Italy studying at Italy's Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners and working in La Taverna del Lupo in Umbria as well as La Bottega del 30 a one Michelin-starred restaurant located in Tuscany. She gained a deeper understanding of Italian culture and cuisine throughout her time in Italy that has informed the way she cooks. Burrell participates on the Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board that helps brighten the lives of children who are struggling. She also is an Juvenile diabetes Research Foundation Celebrity Advocate where she raises awareness about young diabetics. Burrell is often a guest presenter at conferences, and she travels across the nation in her mentorship role. Anne in all her culinary journey has stated that it's an honor to be able to share her passion for the food industry with people.
